We're Home

Thursday, March 22, 2007

It was a long 17 days, but we are home. Adam's dad is stable...he will probably not get any better than he is now, but for now they think that unless he has another stroke he will not get worse. The hard part is that in his state he still needs 24 hour care. I feel bad for my sil because she is all alone with him. I wish there was more we could do to help. I guess all we can do is pray that she has the strength to go on and the strength to ask her brother when she needs him.
Jacob and I went for our Madonna portraits...they turned out really nice...once I get to a scanner I will post some here.
Our 4 month old son had his 4 month shots today...oh how I hate that second shot...he screamed to loud it broke my heart. Luckily he was easily consoled once I picked him up. He weighs 14 LBS 4 ONZ is 25.5 inches long. His thighs are so chubby now and he almost has no wrists left! LOL. I love it.
We started him on rice cereal, vegtables, and fruits. He really likes the green peas and the bananas. Not so much the rice..unless we mix it with the bananas! Can't say I blame him though...it looks very gross on its own. He is still sleeping through the night and is now napping a lot better during the day. His gums have been really bothering him so we have been putting Anbesol on his gums, it really seems to help. Jacob is really the most pleasant babt I have ever meant. He is so easy to please and just so happy. I love being his mommy so much.
Our house is still for sale...we just replaced 1/3 of the roof on Tuesday so that makes the whole roof new. Adam is working on fixing the drywall hiccups and then next week my mom and I will be painting. I love painting so I can not wait. The couple that came through again and then again for a third time want to come back through once the work is completed so please keep your fingers crossed for us. There are a few houses that we like the look of...we will not allow ourselves to go into any of them until ours is sold because we do not want to get our hearts set on something. Our friends just bought a house down the street from one are interested in looking at if it is still available. It would be neat to be accross the street from them. They have a little guy who was born just 6 weeks after Jacob. I keep reminding myself that what will be will be...but it's hard for me not to get my hopes up.
I will keep you posted.

What's been Happrning

Monday, March 05, 2007
My father in law is terminally ill so my hubby, myself and Jake have been with him and my hubby's sister in their hometown for the last 10 days. We will be here for another 5 sleeps. They live about 10 hours away from our home so I am a little homesick. We have been staying in a hotel so at least we have our own space. I feel bad for my hubby and his sister because once their father dies they will be orphans and they are much to young to be orphans. It has been hard on them both. Their mom just died 2.5 years ago!
My little son is the most adorable little man I know. He is starting to laugh out loud a lot and he "talks" in responsive to us all the time now. He also likes to play this game with his bib where he puts the bib over his face and then screams at the top of his lungs and when we move the bib he just puts it right back over his face again! It's so funny. He loves his fingers and is constantly "eating" them. He fights his afternoon naps even though you can so tell he is the most tired. He is still not lulling himself to sleep...I must rock him and sing to him. This could be partially my fault though since I enjoy it too. I want to do it as long as he'll let me because I know it won't be long before he has no time for me! He is grasping his toys now too and yelling at them and holding his bottle up too. I love all the new stages he is growing into. He is so much fun. Some nights he is even sleeping 12 hours. Those are nice. He wakes up in such a great mood now and just smiles at me and talks to me. I love it. He is really laughing now too when I bite his chibby legs...and chibby they are. He is about 15 pounds I think. I will be trying to take him to get weighed this Thursday for his 4 month birthday! 4 months already...I can not believe it.
Our house has had a couple people through it. I hope it sells this time for sure. There are a few house on the market that we are interested in. Although we are trying not to get our hopes up too much because they could be gone before we get our love shack sold.
I am not pregnant. Aunt Flo showed up. Oh well there`s always next month right! LOL.
Anyway nothing else is new. I will update once I have little mans weight!
Have I mentioned how much I love him and how much I love being his mother
