3 Months Old

I am a little late writing this post, but I have busy loving my son.
He has started to giggle! It is the most adorable sound in the world and it tears at my heart strings when he does it and I find myself constantly trying to make him laugh. LOL. He is really starting to respond to us too and he loves to hear his own voice. He has the softest little voice and it sounds like he may be a soft spoken boy, much like my grandfather was. He makes an H sound that really sounds like he is saying hi or ha, and a Y sound that sounds like ya! It is a scream to talk to him and have him talk back. The other day my mom and I were in the van with him and he was kinda fussy a bit, so I said to him: "Jake, are you ok?" and just then he made this sound... "uh-huh" My mom and I looked at eachother like did you hear what I heard and we just started to laugh. Then he started to cry and I swear the kid said "pig" well that made us laugh even harder. Poor kid is going to have a complex before he's six months old! He is so strong and wants to stand up all the time. If he is leaning on something he will stand up holding it. (I will add a photo of that later, I am not at home!) Also, he is sitting up with very little help...of coarse for both of these stunts we are never far away from him. He has been suffering from a cold since the middle of January and it sounded like it was going away, but it has come back. His little nose sounds awful and when I took him to the doctors she looked up his nose and was a little concerned that his nasal passages look very tiny, so she is referring us to us to a specialist. It turns out that the specialist she is sending him to is the pediatrician I wanted to go to, but he does not accept new patients..so I was very happy about that. I am not happy with the peditrician we were going to so our family doctor is going to take over his care...unless this new peed with take Jacob on. We'll see. I am giving Jacob some Saline Nasal Drops and some Dimetapp when he sounds really congested. It is sounding a lot better. I am loving motherhood more and more, I was just saying to my mom that I never expected our baby to be this wonderful. I know that may sound weird, but what I mean is that I knew I would love him more than anything but, I never knew I could love someone as much as I love him or that he would bring this much joy into our lives. He is a special little man. I find that I am turning into my mother more and more and it just makes me laugh...There are much worse things in life to turn into...let me tell you.

Jacob and I went to the movies yesterday. At the theater here twicew a month they have a matinee where parents can bring the babies and watch a movie. I went with my God daughter and her mom and another friend and her son. It was nice. There was about 50 parents and babies and they showed "Catch and Release" It was good but not what I expected. We will go back. The babies were really good though and Jacob slept through most of the movie.
In Canada they implemented this new tax credit called Universal Child Care Benefit. We recieve $100/month for each child under 8 years old. WE will be recieving our first check on the 20th! It is retro-active from his birth so that money will help a lot. Also we are entitled to Child Tax Credit which I did not think we would be elegible for because of our income but we will recieve about $65/month for that too. So that will help a lot.
Anyway nothing else is new.

and she is kicking my ass! LOL. Be careful what you wish for! This is the exact cycle we got pregnant with last year! Wish us luck! I can't say that I am positive we will have as good of luck this time, afterall it took us 3 years to concieve Jacob! Mind you, he was well worth the wait and the heartache. As I am sure his brother or sister will be too. No matter how long it takes to have them. I am hoping for another boy this time. If we have another boy, Adam has agreed to try again for a girl. If we have a girl, he is thinking that we should be done! I would like more than 2 children though... But, we'll see!
We went out on a date on Saturday and we saw Because I said So. It was so good. We also went to dinner at Tony Roma's Yummy. We ate far too much and I felt sick. I had my first 1/2 glass of wine since before my gastric bypass...(August 24th, 2005) and I was very wozzy! I am a cheap drunk now, that's for sure.
We had my god daughter's baptism today. It went really well. We got some really cute pictures of her and Jake together... she had on her bonnet and looked a little amish and her granpa said can't you see them in the future making furniture in St. Jacob's? We'll we laughed so hard. They also looked like that old couple on the Corn Flakes commercial....all they needed was a pitch fork! Poor babies. This week-end too my God Daughter's great aunt decided that they should be married to eachother one day! We laughed about that too. Pre-arraging the marriages. How old fashioned!
