12 Weeks
Tuesday, January 30, 2007
Hi everyone. No we have not fallen off the face of the earth. We have the slowest internet connection on the planet and it takes too long for me to do anything so I ussually just don't.
We had Jacob's christening and he was so good. We had 24 people back to our house after and he was so sweet. He did not seem to mind all those people around him.
He had his fisrt cold, but it was not bad at all. He had the sniffles and the sneezes and it is almost gone now! He was still as pleasant as ever though, it really did not seem to bother him too much. He did not get a fever so that was good.
He is now sleeping through the night at least 8 hours stretches. It is so great. He very rarely sleeps during the day...just little cat naps here and there. He has found his hands and seems to have either is fist or his index finger in his mouth. He now weighs 12 pounds 13 ounces and has doubled his birth weight. His thighs have the most cute ruffles he is filling out so nicely. He is in most of his 3 months stuff but it is still a bit big on him. His 0-3months stuff fits in the body but the length is short..he is 24 inches long now!
I have been having a hard time with my moods. I yell at Adam a lot... I know he probably deserves it.. LOL. and I have been weepy. I worry about everything. Jake, money, my cat, my parents...so today my doctor gave me some meds to help! I hope they take effect soon. I don't think Adam nor I can go on much longer. I am so in love with my son. I am happy about being his mom and he is not a hard baby to take care of I just feel overwhlemed sometimes. But these feelings are worth it though. I love being a mom. Especially Jake's mom. My period has not resumed yet...12 weeks and still no sign. I have not nursed him since week 1. I know some of you are thinking...No period? Are you bitching our bragging? And if I did not want to try again so soon for number 2 I would be very happy about it but nit having a period is not conducive to getting pregnant. LOL. So I sit and wait.
We have run out of room in our house so we have an agent coming in Saturday to discuss listing it. I would like to be out by summer. Wish us luck!
My God-daughter is being baptized on Sunday. I picked up her gift today. I bought her a gold cross necklace, a bonnet that she wears on her christening day and then when she gets married she uses it as a hanky, and outfit and a time capsule keepsake. I am so honoured to her Godmother. She is my first God Child and probably my only since most of my friends are through having children. I love being her Godmother she is so sweet. I am excited about Sunday.
So that's it for the update.
Here is a picture of my boy..enjoy
2 Months Old
Wednesday, January 10, 2007
Wow, 2 months already. Another great month has passed. We did have our moments of frustration with Jacob having his nights and days mixed up but we were lucky to only have that last 3 weeks! I have heard of families that had to deal with that for months so I am very thankful that it only lasted weeks. Jacob is now in his crib at night time and for most naps. At night he is sleeping a good 6 hours.. sometimes more. I can not complain about that. He is smiling so much now and we are having fun making him smile. His whole face lights up when he smiles and our faces start to hurt from smiling back at him. He has started to screech a bit when he smiles sometimes and that is so adorable. He gets very mad at us when we take the bottle away from him to have a burp as well when he wakes up from his 6 hour sleep he is so hungry...we can not get that bottle warmer to work fast enough for his tummy. He really has a temper. Must get that from his mother! Must be the red hair.
Last week I took him to the Parent and Tot swim at our gym. He loved it. He was so happy in the water. Adam and I will take him this week again. My mom and I took him to have his pictures taken and they turned out so good.. he smiled in all of them and cost us a fortune! When I get them I will share them here. I am loving motherhood even more and I can only anticipate that it will only get better. My little man is amazing and I love all there is to love about him. He is the light of my life.
Adam has been home for the last 3 weeks. He goes back to work on Monday.. It has been nice to have him home and I will miss when he goes back. I have become to depend on his help a bit...especially when Jake throws his temper tamtrums, it's been nice to have Adam there to help me calm Jake down! I know I can do it on my own but it's just nice to have him.
I lost another pound.. I am now 154! 19 pounds to go! Yeah!
The Law suit
Thursday, January 04, 2007
Ok so to answer some commenters questions in regards to our pending law suit...
6 weeks after Adam and I were married he had an outpatient surgery to repair a stricture (narrowing) in his urethra. It went very very bad and he was in ICU for 2 nights, nearly died, lost function of his kidneys, was on dialysis for 3 weeks, lost a testicle was rendered impotent and infertile. We are suing the doctor. The function in his kidneys has returned and his infertility has seemed to reversed (IE Jake) but the impotence is still there and he needs to use a vacuum pump to obtain/maintain an erection. (Great fun!) So in the next year or so the suit should be coming to completion and we should have some resolution.
Our Christmas was very nice. It was fun and I can only imagine how much more fun it will be as the years progress. Our 2.5 year old niece was a scream. She really started to understand the whole Santa thing and was so funny! Jacob slept through most of the day but he was so cute anyway.
We seem to be back on track with our nights and days. Thank goodness and he is almost sleeping through his middle of the night feeding. He goes about 2 hours past. So I am getting almost 5 hours of sleep in a row at night. It is great. He is so damn cute and smiling a lot now. His gas has gone down a lot since we changed to Playtex nursers. He has bouts a few times a week instead of eveyday so it's better for him.
He was weighed at the doctor's last week and is up to 9lbs 13 ounces. Oink oink. He has grown out of his newborn clothes and it was sad for me when I packed them away. But the new 0-3 months stuff is so cute so I will be ok! LOL.
I made it 7.5 weeks without him peeing on me..and Tuesday he did it twice! Monkey.
Adam was given a new shift at work so on the 15 of January he will be working 9am-7pm! Yeah a day shift. I am very happy about that. It is a few less hours a week which means a little less money but it will be so good to have him home more.
I am taking Jake to have his pictures taken tomorrow in his Christening Romper. I tried it on him the other day and it looks so cute on him. His Christening is on the 21st of January. Adam will be being baptized that day too.
I am having a hard time staying on track with my eating. Because of the feeding schedules it seems that I am just grabbing snacks. And not very healthy snacks either...like chips and pop! I have not losed any weight in about 2 weeks. I have to buy some healthy snacks this week so that I can get back on track. I only have 23 pounds to go. We have started walking a bit more too. The weather here has been good so it's great to get out. I am taking Jake to a Mommy and Me swim on Friday so that will be fun. And my cousin bought me a Mommy and Me Yoga for Christmas so I can not wait to start that.
Anyway that is all that is new. I hope you enjoy the pictures of our little man.
